Good Computer Tips
The best working conditions always produce the best work. Since many of us spend the majority of our work day on the computer, we should make sure that everything is optimal in regard to our computer working environment.
Keeping things clean, adjusted, and correct can greatly reduce strain, injury, energy waste, and reduced productivity. Some things that seem so obvious are, well, not so obvious. Running by some ideas here and there can greatly help your office computer-related needs.
Computer-related tips and ideas:
Cleaning your LCD monitor: A clean monitor is a clear monitor. To clean your LCD display , never use glass cleaner that contains ammonia or alcohol. Dampen a soft cloth with water, and wipe away all that dirty dust. Do not spray the water directly onto the monitor, and never clean it with the power on.
Ergonomics: A standard keyboard can eventually cause injury because of its poor design. There are many types of ergonomic keyboards available that greatly reduce the necessary extension and pronation that causes eventual injury. Don't be hesitant to make a small investment in a quality keyboard, it's well worth it.
Wireless Mouse and Keyboard: Wires going to your computer can become quite a pain in the butt sometimes. This is especially true in the case of your mouse and keyboard. Because these two objects are the closest to you, that usually means the wires leading up to your mouse and keyboard are somehow in the way, usually the feet. Wireless mice and keyboards eliminate this problem and make for two less wires to get in the way.
Annual Cleaning: As your computer has its own mini ventilation system, it is constantly bringing in dust from its environment. An accumulation of dust can greatly inhibit your computers cooling abilities. It is a good idea to clean this dust out at least once a year. The safest method to do so is by compressed air, which is available in cans at your local electronics store.
The competition these days for fulfilling all your computer needs is fierce. With so many competitors and constantly evolving technologies, computer hardware tends to get less expensive with each day, which is great for us consumers.
